Ah ha! A simple trek to Wikipedia answered my own question. The dad was initially voiced by Dustin Hoffman, but due to 'contractual reasons' his voice could not be used in the future. In my opinion, Dustin did better.

@broadwaybornbaby Kind of depends on how long "a long time" is. haha. I personally think you should put in at least a year on flat or in pre-point in order to build your muscles/ankles back up to prevent injury. I wouldn't say you couldn't start back but I'd take it slow. Don't be afraid to be in the beginner pointe class even if you're older than the other girls. Better to have patient and learn correctly that to learn it wrong or get hurt. Hope that helps! :)

Ive been on pointe 2 and 1/2 years. YES. Most dancers do get blisters and such at the begining of pointe. The more you dance, however, the less blisters you get. and the bunions, does your daughter have toe -spacers? they're little pieces of silicon that dancers stick between their toes during pionte to keep form getting bunions. you can buy them at dance stores.

She loves him, but she is also afraid of him. Because she has seen what his anger can do to people, how he almost looses his humanity. She also doesnt want to admit how much she is drawn to him. He is like a drug to her, just as she is to him. She is afraid what she could overlook just because they have such a strong bond. In the end she chooses the easy, comfortable way out. Which will ( as we found out in Love Never Dies) just make her unhappy.

This movie is the only movie I've ever seen that makes me completely forget that it's a movie-that it's fiction. The actors did their jobs SO well (particularly Gerard Butler-gotta love him!) that I always get utterly pulled into the story, and I can't remember that the Phantom, Christine and Raoul don't really exist. A wonderful movie and a better one you'll never find!
